REGIONAL SETTLEMENT PROGRAM
This program is designed to contribute to the cure of chronic labour shortage in regional areas, whilst simultaneously affording jobs and better living standards for migrants and refugees.
Whilst employers in regional areas have been outsourcing labour from overseas because of shortage of skilled workers, there is an enormous skilled labour that is either underutilized or unutilized in big cities just because there is no connection between the two ends of labour demand and labour supply. GLAPD has been in this field for four years making tremendous connections.
We match the two ends of labour demand and supply, by purposely aiming to create and reinvigorate regional communities whose population trend has been declining for years.
WHO DO WE SUPPORT?
We support African refugees, TPV & SHEV visa holders, asylum seekers (Bridging visa holders), permanent residents and citizens who are eligible to work and live in Australia and who are willing to work and live in regional areas.
HOW DO WE SUPPORT YOU?
There are three stages in the process of resettlement: Pre-resettlement, Resettlement and Post-resettlement.
Thus, our support activities are broken in those stages that provide an integrated service package. Our staff prepares you by requesting documentation that justifies your qualifications, skills and rights to work and live in Australia, as part of the pre-settlement stage. While the previous stage opens-up employment opportunities for you, the resettlement stage involves organizing school enrolments, signing lease contracts and moving to the host community. In the post-resettlement stage, we will help you to connect with the local community through a facilitator so you can be part of the local associations and clubs, learning about local services, etc.
